Our roots

ROBEL pioneers on the track

The 20th century was still in its infancy when Karl Langkammerer took over the "Georg Robel File Factory" and manufactured hand-operated track construction machines in Munich for the first time. The success strengthens his vision for railway construction: Over the decades, "Robeln" has become synonymous with the safe, bolted connection of sleeper and track.
With the economic growth of the 1950s, the size changes: Driven by the idea of optimizing work on the rails, ROBEL builds track motor vehicles and, a little later, rail loading trains and takes the first steps across the national borders.
In 1989, the Munich premises literally reached their limits - ROBEL gradually relocated all areas of the company to Bahnstadt Freilassing.
